On Thursday, Real Madrid will host Cadiz at the Santiago Bernabeu with the goal of catching La Liga leaders Barcelona.
When Real Madrid hosts relegation-threatened Cadiz in La Liga on Thursday, they will be looking to bounce back from their first league loss of the year.
Los Blancos suffered a shocking 3-2 loss at the hands of Rayo Vallecano, who earned the victory because they outplayed the current Spanish champions.
As a result, Real Madrid’s lead over league-leading Barcelona in the La Liga standings has shrunk to two points. They have only won one of their last four games overall, a 5-1 thumping of Celtic in the Champions League, and will try to turn things around against Cadiz, a team with little to no history.
On the other side, Cadiz is currently second from the bottom of the league table and is once more finding it difficult to handle the demands of the first division after eking out a victory last season.
The visitors, who drew 0-0 with Getafe over the weekend, are only in the relegation zone because of a worse goal differential and may leave it if they have a successful outcome in this game.
However, they will face a Real Madrid team that is motivated to win this match, so they will have their work cut out for them.
