Moscow, Feb 9 (IANS) Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the country’s existing strategy for scientific and technology growth needs to be revised.
“We need to focus our human, financial, and infrastructure resources on a clearly defined set of goals,” Putin said at a meeting of the Council for Science and Education on Wednesday, according to the Kremlin.
Putin stated that he believes it is important to make certain changes to the key text, the National Scientific and Technological Development Strategy, in this regard.
According to the President, the approach was implemented in 2016, and the situation has since altered, according to the Xinhua news agency.
“We must focus on accomplishing our national development goals, taking into account external constraints,” Putin said, adding that “this means that we must be exceedingly careful when selecting our scientific and technological priorities”.
