Oppo Find N2 Flip makes its global debut, presenting a new challenge to Samsung’s foldable global dominance.

Oppo’s foldable flip phone, the Find N2 Flip, was officially unveiled for the worldwide market at an event in London. Oppo is releasing one of its foldable phones to the worldwide market for the first time, which is a huge move for the Shenzhen-based business. It released the Oppo Find N in 2021, which unfolds into a tablet form factor, but only in China. Last year, the Find N2 Flip and Find N2 Fold phones were released in China.
Oppo’s Find N2 Flip will undoubtedly challenge Samsung, which is presently regarded as the market leader in the foldable area. A survey from Counterpoint Research anticipated that the foldable smartphone market will climb from 9 million to 16 million in 2022, and it is likely to grow to 23 million this year. The research also stated that Samsung was the clear leader in the market, with a 62% share, with Huawei and Oppo trailing far behind. The Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip series from Samsung are the ‘de-facto’ foldable solutions in the smartphone industry. Oppo will try to spice things up with its own global launch, and the Find N2 Flip will specifically compete with the Z Flip4 due to their comparable form factors.
It should be emphasised that as the global smartphone market falls, with users holding on to outdated phones for longer periods of time, ‘foldables’ remain one new tempting form factor that could potentially win over customers willing to pay a premium price. Given that most smartphones today look similar to one another and have some parity in the camera and performance departments, a ‘foldable phone’ has become a method for a company to stand out. This also explains why Oppo is launching the Find N2 Flip on a worldwide scale.

The Oppo Find N2 Flip is powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 9000+ chipset with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, as well as a 4300mAh battery with 44W rapid wired charging.
