In his first game since the World Cup, Neymar was dismissed in Paris Saint-victory Germain’s over Strasbourg for a second-half dive in the penalty area.
After Kylian Mbappe’s late penalty kick sealed the three points in the Ligue 1 leaders’ return to play, PSG went on to win the game 2-1.
The Brazil international received two yellow cards during the match, the first for kicking Strasbourg player Adrien Thomasson in the face with his hand in the 61st minute, and the second for diving in the next minute.
The forward attempted to challenge the call by confronting referee Clement Turpin, but in vain.

Neymar will miss Sunday’s match at Lens because of his fifth red card since joining PSG for a record-breaking €222 million ($236 million) in 2017.
Brazilian Marquinhos scored PSG’s first goal at Parc des Princes early in the game after Neymar, who was in tears after Brazil fell to Croatia in the World Cup quarterfinals, set up the goal.
