Kim Kardashian has spoken out against the contentious Balenciaga photo shoot in which kids were forced to pose with teddy bears.
She tweeted a succession of times about how the frightening photos had left her feeling shaken as a mother of four. The safety of children must be prioritised, and attempts to normalise child abuse of any form should be rejected outright by our culture.
Because The Kardashians star had remained silent on the controversy involving the fashion company she usually collaborates with, there was growing outrage on social media.
Not that I haven’t been appalled and upset by previous Balenciaga campaigns, she continued, “but I wanted an opportunity to speak to their team so that I could understand for myself how this could have happened.”
According to Kim Kardashian, “I’m now re-evaluating my connection with the company, basing it on their willingness to accept accountability for something that shouldn’t have happened in the first place — & the actions I am expecting to see them do to protect children.”
“I appreciate Balenciaga’s apologies and removal of the advertising. After spoken with them, I believe they recognise the gravity of the situation and will take the appropriate steps to ensure that it never occurs again,” she continued.
