This season’s Carabao Cup opener for Arsenal against Premier League rival Brighton & Hove Albion won’t be simple. The Arsenal will try to continue their league performance in the cup and eventually take home the trophy.
The Premier League standings are now headed by Mikel Arteta’s team, who have only lost one of their first 13 games. The Gunners appear to have finally developed into the well-drilled, fluid football playing outfit that many had high hopes for when Arteta was appointed, but it has taken some time.
But Brighton & Hove Albion won’t submit to their power that readily. Despite losing Graham Potter and a sizable portion of their coaching staff to Chelsea this season, the Seagulls are still a well-oiled machine. They have soundly defeated Potter’s Chelsea and held Liverpool to a draw under new manager Roberto De Zerbi.
