Chalapathi Rao, a renowned Telugu actor, died at the age of 78 after suffering a heart attack. In Telugu cinema, Chalapathihi was most recognised for his humorous and villainous roles. More than 600 movies include the actor. On Sunday morning, the 78-year-old actor and producer reportedly had a heart attack and passed unexpectedly.
Following the news of Chalapathi Rao’s passing, his coworkers in the industry and fans took to social media to share their condolences. Through his official Twitter account, the actor and producer Nandamuri Kalyan Ram expressed his condolences to Rao’s family.
The celebrated villain actor Chalapathi Rao was born in 1944 in the Krishna district’s Balliparru. Chalapathi Rao made a name for himself in the industry with over 600 film roles.
He produced a number of movies under his own production firm, including Kaliyuga Krishnudu, Kadapareddamma, Jagannatakam, Pellante Nurella Panta, Presidentigari Alludu, Ardharatri Hatyalu, and Raktham Chindina Raatri. Additionally, he had roles in various TV shows. His son Ravi Babu made a name for himself as an accomplished actor and director.
Many Tollywood celebrities lamented the actor’s tragically brief passing. The actor’s mortal remains are kept in a safe place at his son’s house. Around 3 PM today, they would be taken to Mahaprasthanam.
With “Ghodachari 116,” Chalapathi Rao made his acting debut in 1966. He played supporting roles with A-list actors like N. T. Rama Rao, Krishna, Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi, and Venkatesh.
After the passing of Chalapathi Rao, this is the second huge setback for Tollywood in the previous three days. The departure of Chalapathi Rao put the film industry into mourning even before it had time to recuperate from the blow of the death of legendary actor Kaikala Satyanarayana on December 23.
